1) GudhiPadwa

gudi1

GudhiPadva is a spring-time festival that marks the traditional new year for Maharashtrians. It is celebrated in and near Maharashtra to mark the beginning of the New year. The festival is observed with colorful floor decorations called rangoli, a special Gudhi flag (garlanded with flowers, mango and neem leaves, topped with upturned silver or copper vessel), street processions, dancing and festive foods.

gudi2

Buying gold, new vehicle or anything new is considered to bring prosperity if done on this festive day of GudhiPadwa.

gudi3

Since a symbol of victory is always held high, so is the gudhi (flag). It is believed that this festival is celebrated to commemorate the coronation of Rama after completing 14 years of exile. So, people celebrate victory of lord Rama every year by raising Gudhi. Gudhi is symbol of victory of lord Rama. Gudhi is believed to ward off evil, invite prosperity and good luck into the house.

2) Ganapati Festival

gan1

Lord Ganesha is revered as the remover of obstacles both of a material and spiritual order; it is also the most popular deity in India.

gan2

Ganesha is a popular figure in Indian art. Ganesha’s images were prevalent in many parts of India by the 6th century. Ganesha has been represented with the head of an elephant since the early stages of his appearance in Indian art.

gan3

Ganapati idols are immersed in water every year in Mumbai however, the condition of the water bodies paint a sorry picture of utter neglect and lack of awareness amongst the people of Mumbai to check mounting water pollution year after year. It is time we all woke up start saving our waters!

Which Camera Is Best For You :

cam1

Don't be hell bent on making sure you've got the "best" or the newest camera model in a particular class. The truth is, just one camera can rarely beat the rest on all four major criteria -- photo quality, performance, features and design. The older models can be perfectly fine too as well as a lot cheaper.

1) Try before you buy

Make sure it fits comfortably in your hand and that it's not so big or heavy that you'll prefer to leave it at home. It should provide quick access to the most commonly used functions, and menus should be simply structured, logical and easy to learn. Touchscreen models can allow for greater functionality, but can also be frustrating if the controls and menus are poorly organized.

2) Which lens should I buy?

First off, and easiest to figure out is, “What do you want to shoot?” It could be sports, wildlife, birds, landscapes, architecture, portraits, or any number of other subjects. Next is to find out what your budget is. The cost of the lens depends on several things like its aperture, focal lengths etc

Most camera bodies these days come bundled with kit lenses. What’s a kit lens? Kit lenses are inexpensive, small, and light lenses that act as “starter lenses” when getting started with DSLR photography. They are generally priced at the lowest end of the manufacturer’s range, and are often within standard focal lengths, although these days, lenses can occasionally range from wide-angle to mid telephoto for versatility.

Standard zooms are generally included in many SLR kits that come with lenses. 18-55mm, 18-135mm, 24-105mm, 24-70mm, and others are popular standard zooms. However, there are also standard prime lenses. Prime lenses are lenses that are just one focal length. When I was a student, everyone in the class started with a 50mm lens. Whether you choose a zoom or a prime is up to you.

1) How To Take Amazing Selfies

Taking selfies is a fun way to show the world your confidence, personality and fashion sense. From presidents to Academy Award winners, almost everybody's doing it. But don't just point your camera at your face and take a shot without planning—there's an art to taking attention-grabbing selfies that your friends will love seeing in their feeds.

2) Points to remember :

selfie2

Avoid fluorescent lighting at all costs, they will always give you dark shadows over your face hence making the picture look really awkward.

In the morning your face is clean, your makeup is fresh, and your hair hasn't yet been destroyed by wind/humidity/gym class, which makes it the optimal time for a photo.

If you feel shy in front of a camera or just don't feel like taking 457 photos to get the *perfect* one, throw on your favorite shades beforehand. That way you really only have to pose your lips and let's face it –sunglasses make everyone look cool.

3) Selfie of the Selfie

One really fun idea that I haven't seen very often is to have someone take a picture of you taking a selfie. It's a really flattering look and is really interesting.

Whats Your Photography Style :

How can I decide on a photography style?

style1

It sounds like such a huge task. Deciding on a photography style. Sticking to a photography style, a look that you are confident enough in that you show it again and again and again. So, how is it done? Well, here are a few of my thoughts on how you can decide on your own photography style.

1) Stop looking at everyone else

style2

You know that blog that you follow? The one where you always look at images and wonder I wish I could shoot like THAT. Unsubscribe from it. Start shooting around your house, the people in your family, friends, go to the park and you will soon find that the “other” pictures you were admiring are now being liked by your friends and family.

2) Don't copy

style3

Don’t copy someone else’s photography style. Well, it’s also the most annoying. And I don’t necessarily mean it’s annoying to the person being copied (although it is). I mean, for you as well. It’s annoying for YOU. Why? Because you can never, ever, no not ever get that image to look like the one that you are copying. And why would you want to? It’s the idea and brain and heart of someone else.

3) Shoot daily

style4

Shoot an image every single day. Did you hear that? EVERYDAY you are to shoot. I promise you that if you shoot daily your photography style will emerge.

Travel Diaries :

travel1

Here is a thing or two to tell you about journaling on the road on my time spent around the world.

“I am a lifelong traveler. Every time I journey somewhere new, I return home in love with the place. My experiences abroad have been my greatest source of learning and personal development. Bringing these lessons home with me is a rewarding part of the experience. I choose to keep a travel log so that I can record my activities as I go.

travel2

Capturing cultural lessons is unique to traveling and keeping a journal is a great way to document those special details: climate, accommodations, food, chance encounters, etc.I’ve taken some incredible journeys to the far corners of the world. But inevitably, these trips always come to an end.

travel3

Keeping a journal has allowed me to turn these experiences into lasting insights. As I flip through my pictures I am able to revisit each journey; going back to the trip in my mind, trying to understand it, finding a place for it in my thinking…that is what will last an entire lifetime.

Photowalk At The National Park

park1

The photowalk at the Sanjay Gandhi National Park was a memorable one. Let me also tell you that the National park is the only protected forest to be located within the limits of a city. To enjoy nature amid concrete Mumbai, this is the place to come!

park2

After getting some wonderful shots of the trees with sun beating down inside the forest area we then hopped onto the local bus that runs through the park and headed straight to the magnificent Kanheri Caves, there are 109 of them in various sizes, scattered over a hilltop and hand-carved out of volcanic rock and captured some amazing pictures of the structures into our cameras.

park3

We also got some good pictures of the monkeys that hover around the area which can get a bit scary at times (unless you don’t get too close to them) and then of the lake (better place during monsoons) all in all a good photowalk. We got ourselves some refreshments and wound up around three or so and called it a day coming back with a bunch of photos to show off.

Personal Work :

1) Stock Photography

stock1

Stock photography is the supply of photographs, which are often licensed for specific uses.Stock photography is a cost-effective method for designers to obtain professional photos and images without the costs of hiring a photographer directly.

stock2

Hiring a photographer or graphic designer to create a custom image for you, or even getting the necessary equipment and knowledge to create them yourself, is both expensive and time-consuming. Stock images solve both problems at once. These images are ready to be used, and the cost of the license is much, much lower than that of commissioning a professional.

stock3

Our high quality stock images can be used in your designs for various purposes. They are perfect for marketing and advertising, for promotional work, for personal or commercial creative projects, for publishing, for websites and blogs, and more.

Behind The Scenes :

1) Communicate

stock1

Before heading for a shoot talk to your model/ client and understand what her/his requirement is and what they expect from you. Before you begin your shoot make your model comfortable by talking to him/ her so they are at ease with you at the time of the shoot.

stock2

2) Tell a Story

Every picture tells a story. When I first started clicking pictures, I thought it was just about framing and beautiful subjects put together. But I’ve been learning that it needs to have a story – even if it’s a simple one! People will connect much better with your picture that way.

stock3

3) Study Others’ Work

I always advise my friends to study other photographers works be that new, amateur or for that matter any other coz you will have something to learn from everyone always.
